Making “The Cape” Home
After years of vacationing on the Cape, we decided that it was finally time to follow through on our long term goal of investing in a home of our own on Cape Cod. The decision was made New Year’s Day in 2015 over a beer and lobster rolls overlooking the ocean at The Lobster Trap in Bourne.
Why did we need to wait to live by the ocean?
My wife grew up just up the road and I had spent my college summers working on the outer Cape. This is where we want to be – we agreed – even if our careers were in the city.
We purchased a nearly 200-year old, farmhouse near the Cape Cod Canal on the Sagamore/Sandwich town line. The 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom home was listed for less than what a one-bedroom apartment was going for in Boston. Before we even had the keys in hand, we were receiving rental inquiries from a listing that we created for fun using the real estate photos. That first summer the house nearly paid for itself in full. Over the past five years, we have been able to reinvest our rental income into our home, significantly increasing its value over time. It wasn’t long before we recognized there was a high demand for property Management services on Cape Cod. We started small with family and friends. The customers quickly grew and The Cape Property Management was born.
We understand owning a second home or investment property comes with a significant amount of work. We also understand the challenges of coordinating contractors on the Cape.
We believe in the significant value of ongoing home improvements, modern design, and general maintenance. We see your real estate as an investment and we treat our customer’s homes as if they were our own.
Our goal is to help our clients live the life they want to live by supporting their home needs on Cape Cod. We are your eyes and ears when you can’t be here – and your extra sets of hands when you don’t have the time to do it yourself. Additionally, we are constantly looking for special homes that will make strong investments for our clients.
Life in the city or suburbs is busy. We make owning a Cape house easy and fun.
We love working with Down The Cape Concierge to help give our clients and their guests an equally unique and special experience when they visit the Cape.
We are now a full-service company offering realty services, property management, maintenance, project management, and short term rental consulting and management. We offer customizable plans to fit your needs.
