Route 6A +Route 28 all converge onto Route 6 in Orleans to form the start of the Outer Cape. The forearm of the Cape is sparsely populated due to miles of protected oceanfront and National Seashore. If you drive to the end of Route 6 and you will reach Provincetown or "Ptown", a colorful summer destination located at the tip of Cape Cod.

A day on the Outer Cape should start with the best breakfast sandwich on Cape Cod at JoMama's in Orleans (locations also in Chatham and South Yarmouth) or brave the lines for amazing french pastries and bread at PB Boulangerie Bistro right off of Route 6 in Wellfleet.


Get to the outdoor bar at The Beachcomber before 11:30 am for a bucket list Cape experience. There is nothing quite like ordering a Little Devil seafood platter and drink a few feet from the ocean. If you park for Cahoon Hollow Beach you will also receive a restaurant credit with the $20 fee. Right after leaving the Wellfleet Flea Market, grab a pizza and a quick game at The Red Barn. Pull into Arnold's Restaurant in Eastham for classic fried seafood, lobster rolls, and ice cream.


Wellfleet has a great foodie scene serving their famous Oysters. Enjoy sushi sitting at the outdoor bar at Mac's Shack. Order seafood classics with water views at the funky and casual Bookstore Restaurant. Looking for a nightcap? Walk into around the building for a shot + beer at the Bomb Shelter.
