5 Places To Take the Perfect Photoshoot on Cape Cod
The Cape Cod landscape is a quintessential place for family portraits, engagement photos, photoshoots with friends, and even selfies during golden hour. Taking photos out in nature is also a smart social distancing activity! From Sandwich to P-town, we’ve listed some of our favorite public spots for the perfect #nofilter pic.
1. Race Point | Provincetown, MA
Race Point can be a full day activity with your friends or family when done right! This location offers gorgeous scenery for backdrops, or, you can even use them as your subjects. Additionally, you can get an exclusive outdoor photoshoot on one of Art’s Dune Tours, then grab fresh oysters at Mac’s Seafood. Cape Cod’s legendary dunes make for a super unique portrait (or holiday card!).
2. Lighthouse Beach | Chatham, MA
When you think about the Cape, the scenery at Lighthouse Beach should be what you imagine. Located minutes from Chatham’s quaint Main Street, you’ll have tons of options for shopping and eating after your shoot. We recommend lunch at the Squire and some sweet treats at Candy Manor (yum!).
3. Wychmere Harbor | Harwich Port, MA
This is one of our favorite backdrops on the Cape and it’s conveniently right next to Downtown Harwich Port. You should pair a photography session with lunch at Perk’s Coffee Shop and Beer Garden or The Port and shopping at Murphy’s General Store and Sativa. In Harwich Port, there's always something to do.
4. Gray's Beach | Yarmouth Port, MA
Gray’s Beach is home to a long boardwalk that you may already be familiar with since it’s so picturesque. From the end of the boardwalk, you can even view Chapin Beach in Dennis. After your photoshoot, get some lunch at Oliver's and Planck’s Tavern. We suggest trying their Grilled Lobster Quesadilla!
5. Town Neck Beach | Sandwich, MA
We can’t leave out The Upper Cape! Town Neck Beach in Sandwich is a close drive from non-Cape towns and has plenty of space to spread out. We recommend sprawling out with a picnic or grabbing a bite afterward at Sandwich Marina. This is a fantastic spot to pause and take in the views.
